An image showing a ransacked house with scattered belongings is being circulated online, falsely claiming to be the residence of Colonel Sofiya Qureshi. A Pakistan-based account has alleged that extremist Hindus attacked her home, vandalized the property, and assaulted her family members.

Fact Check

Upon investigation, we found the claim to be false. During the verification process, we came across a report published by the Times of India on May 15, 2025, which stated that the Belagavi police had dismissed the social media claims of an attack on Colonel Sofiya Qureshi residence, calling the posts fabricated. Superintendent of Police Bhimashankar Guled clarified that a misleading post on X falsely linked the alleged attack to the RSS and included an unrelated image of a damaged house.

Additionally, we located an official tweet from SP Bhimashankar Guled on his verified X account, where he explicitly debunked the viral claims and confirmed that no such incident had taken place.

Conclusion

The claim that Colonel Sofiya Qureshi’s home was attacked by extremist Hindus is entirely fake. Police investigations confirmed that no such incident occurred.
