Claim
A video is going viral on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). A user named Not Sure Gnoticer (@ViceLitty) uploaded the video on May 8, 2025. The user has shared the video with a caption, “Video from the “Sangar post near LoC” circulating on Indian WhatsApp Supposedly 50+ Indians have been k!lled by the Pakistanis”
The footage is a video recording of the ground situation at an Army post near LoC by a soldier. This soldier is recording and is not visible on camera but is heard talking about the ground reality, showing the injured or killed soldiers and the aftermath of the attack at the post.
Fact Check
To investigate the claim made on the viral video, we closely monitored the audio. The soldier who was recording the video said, this is the area of 20 Raj (20 Raj ki post hai, ye).
However, there are no 20 Raj regiments or battalions in the Indian army. Our team at DFRAC checked about the 20th Raj Battalion in the Indian Army. The DFRAC conducted a keyword search on 20 Raj battalion in the Indian Army.
A fact check by PIB has debunked the claims made in this viral video.
Conclusion
Hence, it is clear from the fact check by DFRAC that the claim made in the viral video is fake. There is no 20 Raj battalion in the Indian Army. This viral video seems to be staged or has manipulated audio.
