Claim
A video is going viral on social media. In the video, a dargah can be seen between two saffron flags. The video is being claimed to be from Hajipur, Bihar. It is being alleged that someone waved a saffron flag at the dargah.

On social media site X (formerly), a user named Azhar shared the video and wrote that a person named Hajipur “Devil” waved a saffron flag at the dargah of an unknown Pir Rahmatullah Alaihe. This raises question whether @SpVaishali will take action against this saffron terrorist or will they be needing a Urdu sounding name this time, @bihar_police, @Akhtaruliman5, and @RisingFalcons07 (translated into English).

Meanwhile, on Instagram, the viral video was shared by Devansh Raj (@royal_devil2222). Along with the video, a text saying – “Jai Shri Ram at Unknown Pir Chowk in Hajipur (translated into English).”
Fact Check
To investigate the claims made with the viral video, the DFRAC examined media coverage related to this matter. However, we did not find any report that confirms the claim.

However, during further investigation, we found a press release from the Vaishali Police on X regarding the claims made with the viral video. The police has refuted the claims made regarding the viral video. And it also stated that on 06.04.2025, a video was being circulated on social media, showing a saffron flag being waved at the Anjanpir Dargah located under the Nagar Police Station area. The police clarified that this is false news.
Furthermore, it was stated that the video in question is from the previous year, and no flag was placed on the Anjanpir Dargah. Instead, it was placed on the streetlight pole next to the dargah. During this year’s Ram Navami Shobha Yatra or procession, no such incident took place near the Anjanpir Dargah. The news circulating on social media is completely false and misleading. Vaishali Police has issued a denial regarding this.
Conclusion
Therefore, the DFRAC’s fact check clearly shows that the claim of a saffron flag being waved at the Anjanpir Dargah in Hajipur is misleading. The viral video depicts the visual from the previous year, and the flag was not placed on the dargah but on the streetlight pole next to it.
