Fact Check
To verify the viral claim, the DFRAC conducted a keyword search, which led us to news reports.
A news report by Aaj Tak, dated 22 March 2025, stated that a dispute broke out between two groups, involving the devotees visiting the Purnagiri temple in Sambhal and fruit vendors. The argument quickly escalated to a violent clash. On both sides, devotees and fruit vendors attacked each other using sticks and rods on the highway.

Similarly, another report by Navbharat Times, dated 22 March 2025, reported regarding the clash between devotees and fruit vendors. This report further informs us about police action and the arrests made of a few individuals. As of the time the report was published, the police had started investigating the matter.

Apart from this, a tweet by Sambhal Police informs about this altercation between two parties while buying fruits. People from both sides belong to the same community (Hindu). The tweet also notifies about the arrest made and legal action taken by the police.

Conclusion
Hence, it is clear by the fact check that both parties involved in a violent scuffle over buying fruits were Hindus, as informed by the Police. No Muslim person or group attacked the devotees in Sambhal.
Therefore, the viral claim is misleading.
