A video is getting viral on social media which shows two violent groups attacking each other in front of a bus in Sambhal. The claimant has shared a caption that suggests a violent mob that was relentless and wanted the devotional music to turn off playing on the bus. The bus was en route to Maa Purnagiri. The bus was at a halt as the pilgrims were snacking when the adamant Jihadis came in, wanting to stop the music being played. This led to a scuffle between them.

Multiple other users were also found sharing the claim of a Hindu-Muslim Mob clash on a bus en route to Maa Purnagiri in Sambhal.

To verify the viral claim, the DFRAC conducted a keyword search, which led us to news reports.

A news report by Aaj Tak, dated 22 March 2025, stated that a dispute broke out between two groups, involving the devotees visiting the Purnagiri temple in Sambhal and fruit vendors. The argument quickly escalated to a violent clash. On both sides, devotees and fruit vendors attacked each other using sticks and rods on the highway.

This report further informs us about police action and the arrests made of a few individuals. As of the time the report was published, the police had started investigating the matter.

Apart from this, a tweet by Sambhal Police informs about this altercation between two parties while buying fruits. People from both sides belong to the same community (Hindu). The tweet also notifies about the arrest made and legal action taken by the police.

Hence, it is clear by the fact check that both parties involved in a violent scuffle over buying fruits were Hindus, as informed by the Police. No Muslim person or group attacked the devotees in Sambhal.
