
Video of a grenade attack falsely shared with a misleading claim
A video is going viral showing a grenade attack with the claim that Khalistani rebels conducted a grenade attack on Indian Colonel’s residence in Amritsar, Punjab. Many handles, including some Pakistan-based, have shared this video on X along with the false claim.
An account named Tactical Tribune posted this video and wrote: “Khalistani rebels conducted grenade attack on Indian Clonal’s residence in Amritsar, Punjab”.

Moreover, sharing this video on X, another account named PSYWAR Bureau claimed: “Khalistani frẹẹdom fỉghtẹrs launched a brutal grenade attack on the residence of an Indian colonel in Amritsar Punjab. The preview link can be seen here.
Fact-Check
In the probe. The DFRAC team found that the video had been misrepresented on X. We reverse-searched the keyframes generated from the viral video, which took us to some of the latest reports published by Indian Express, MSN, and India Today. The reports featured the same video stating that in a shocking incident, two bike-borne miscreants hurled a hand grenade in Amritsar’s Khandwala area. The CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, which shows the miscreants arriving at the location on a bike with a flag mounted over it.

Adding that, the attack took place on the intervening night of March 14-15 at around 12:35 am. However, no casualties were reported.
Conclusion
It is evident from DFRAC ‘s fact-check that the viral video has been misleadingly shared on X. In reality two bike-borne miscreants hurled a hand grenade in Amritsar’s Khandwala area, not Khalistanis.
