Amid PM Modi’s visit to France, a video of the AI Action Summit showing French President Macron shaking hands with global leaders and prominent personalities is making rounds on social media platform X(formerly Twitter). Users sharing this clip were alleging that Macron greeted world leaders but did not shake hands with Indian PM Narendra Modi, despite Modi’s attempts at the Paris AI Summit.
An account named Clash Report posted this clip on X and wrote: “Sorry not sorry: French President Emmanuel Macron greeted world leaders but did not shake hands with Indian PM Narendra Modi, despite Modi’s attempts at the Paris AI Summit”

The post has racked up around more than 7 lakh views on X.
Furthermore, several users shared this video on X and made similar claims. The preview link can be seen here, here and here.
Fact-Check
The DFRAC team investigated the viral post and found it to be misleading. In reality, the viral posts carry the short clip.
In our investigation, we found the extended version of this video in the latest reports by The Daily Guardian and EU Debates on YouTube.

A close observation of the extended video revealed that both of them entered the hall together.
Upon further investigation, we found some images on the X handle of PM Modi showing that he was warmly welcomed by French President Macron.

Evidently, they had already shaken hands before the clip was recorded, and later entered the conference hall together, greeting other leaders.
Conclusion
It is clear from DFRAC’s Fact-check that the viral video has been misleadingly shared on X. Originally, PM Modi was not at all ignored by French President Macron during AI Action Summit.
