Unveiling the allegations of Pak handles claiming crackdown by security forces as pure harassment in J & K. Here are the facts
Several pak handles took to social media platform X(formerly Twitter) and asserted their claims on the recent anti-terrorism crackdown launched by Security forces amid the escalation of violence and unrest in Jammu and Kashmir. The accounts alleged that a massive crackdown in J& K by Indian troops targeting civilians, journalists & activists under draconian UAPA is nothing but state-sponsored harassment.
An X Handle named Subcontinent Insider posted an image on X and wrote: “Mass Crackdown in Jammu & Rajouri! 1π*d1@*n forces raid 25 locations, targeting civilians, journalists & activists under draconian UAPA—no evidence, just state-sponsored har@ssm€*nt! M0*di’s crackdown on dissent in J & K continues”

Furthermore, many pak-handles made a similar claim on X. The preview link can be seen here.
Fact-Check
The DFRAC team investigated these claims and found them to be false.
Upon searching some keywords on Google, we came across various reports from Wion, The Tribune, and The New Indian. The reports stated that security officials launched a crackdown to target and eliminate terrorist groups operating in the region. The operation aims to enhance security and curb militant activities amid growing concerns over violence and unrest. The special focus is on rugged terrain and dense forests along the Line of Control (LoC).

One of the reports has also stated a statement of a senior police official involved in the operations: “With seamless coordination between the Army, Jammu, and Kashmir Police, and paramilitary units, we are achieving tangible results and remain resolute in our mission to eradicate terrorism”. It further cited that while Rajouri and Poonch had long been epicenters of terror activity, terrorists had expanded their footprint to six additional districts—Reasi, Doda, Kishtwar, Kathua, Udhampur, and Jammu—throughout 2024.
Conclusion
It is evident from DFRAC’s fact-check that the claims made by Pak-based handles are misleading. The crackdown has been launched to wipe out terrorism & to make the state turned UT a terror-free region.
