An image of security personnel has recently surfaced on the social media platform X(formerly Twitter). Pak-handles have shared the image with the claim that Kashmiri Freedom Fighters have killed a BSF Jawan in the Jammu region during an ambush.
An X handle named Tactical Tribune posted this image and wrote: “BSF soldier, Janamjay Mishra, killed by Kashmiri fighters in Jammu region during an ambush”

The account is particularly known for sharing misinformation against India on X.
Another account by the name Order of Razakars shared this image and claimed: “BSF soldier Janamjay Mishra who was injured by Kashmiri freedom fighters a few days back in Indian occupied Jammu has today died in hospital”. The preview link can be seen here.

The DFRAC team investigated the above-shared claim and found it to be false.
A reverse-image search of the image shared with the claim led us to the latest reports by Dainik Bhaskar
The reports stated that BSF Jawan Janamjay Kumar died due to a heart attack on Republic Day and was admitted to the hospital for 15 days. Moreover, he suffered a heart attack while on Duty.

Conclusion
DFRAC’s fact check clearly shows that the above-shared claim alleging that Kashmiri fighters have killed BSF soldier, Janamjay Mishra is misleading indeed. In reality, he has died after suffering from a heart attack.
