Amid the Middle East crisis, a video showing extensive damage after an attack is making rounds on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Users are sharing this video and claiming that Hezbollah has successfully attacked another Israeli military base.

Furthermore, multiple users shared this video and made similar claims. The Preview can be seen here, here and here.

Fact-check

In the probe, the DFRAC team found that the video was from 2023 and completely unrelated to the ongoing attacks in Middle Eastern countries.
A reverse-image search of the video’s keyframes led us to a tweet by Emanuel (Mannie) Fabian (Times of Israel correspondent) carrying the same video and another video from Nov 2023 with the caption: “Footage shows extensive damage at the Biranit army base in northern Israel following a Hezbollah rocket attack from Lebanon.

In addition, we found some reports from the Times of Israel & Deccan Herald published in Nov 2023. The reports stated that the Iran-backed terror group fired rockets and launched drones at northern Israel, causing heavy damage to an army base in one of the attacks. However, the attacks reported no causalities, but heavy damage and a fire were caused at the Biranit base.

Conclusion

It is clear from DFRAC’s fact-check that the video was from 2023 showing extensive damage at the Biranit army base following a Hezbollah rocket attack from Lebanon
