A pak-based handle shared a screenshot of a news article and claimed that the confiscation of Bilal Ahmad Lone’s property by Indian authorities was part of a wider campaign to displace Kashmiris in their own land.

Fact-Check
The DFRAC team fact-checked the claim shared above. A Google keyword search regarding the claim led us to the latest reports from various media outlets, such as Greater Kashmir, Rising Kashmir, and Kashmir Reader. The reports stated that the property of Bilal Ahmd which includes land measuring 16 marlas along with a two-storey residential house under Survey No. 1821, has been formally attached as the proceeds of the terrorism.
In addition, the reports cited that the said accused was involved in providing shelter to the then LeT commander and his associate terrorist who were neutralized at his house on 3rd June 2024.
The steps taken regarding the attachment of the property is to deter the use of terror finances for personal gains and dismantling the terror support network.
Further probe into the case is underway.
