Amidst this crucil event, Pakistani accounts on social mdia are sharing false claims to potray Indian administration in Bad light. A frequent fake news peddler X account named Kashmir English has shared a viral claim in regard to recent Operation Kanchi in Rajouri.
The account shared,”Indian forces in Jammu & Kashmir have ki!!ed two innocent youths in a fake encounter in Rajouri.” Following the similar tactic, another account named Kashmir Vantage also shared the claim.
Fact Check
DFRAC team investigated the viral claim. Firstly we checked for the official account of Indian Army. The Official X Account of 16 Corps, Indian Army updated on 9 th September,” Based on inputs from intelligence agencies and @JmuKmrPolice regarding a likely infiltration bid, an anti-infiltration Operation was launched by #IndianArmy on the intervening night of 08-09 Sep 24 in general area Lam, #Nowshera. Two terrorists have been neutralised and a large quantity of war like stores including Two AK-47s and one Pistol thus far recovered. Search operation is in progress.”
Additionally, the official informed that they seized a cache of weapons, including AK-47 rifles,one M-4 with sight, one pistol, eight grenades, assorted ammunition, personal clothing and miscellaneous war like stores have been recovered from terrorists.
We also checked for the media reports. According to media reports, Indian Army foiled an infiltration attempt along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir last night. Two heavily armed terrorists were killed during the anti-infiltration operation Rajouri district and weapons, including AK-47s, were recovered from them.
Conclusion
Thus, from the fact check it is clear that in an anti-infiltration operation, 2 terrorists were neutralised who tried to infiltrate the LoC border. Neither youth nor any civilian was harmed in Rajouri.
