A picture is getting viral on social media sites regarding Indian Billionaire industrialist Gautam Shantilal Adani. Adani is the talk of the town after the controversy sparked when short-seller Hindenburg Research disclosed citing potential stock manipulation and accounting fraud in a report. The allegations sent bonds and shares in the conglomerate’s companies down.
By sharing the picture a user captions: “ Protests in Australia against Adani! It’s spreading like wildfire! Only @RBI and @SEBI_India mutely following orders from their masters!”
Meanwhile, many other social media users share the same picture with similar claims.
To know the reality of the viral claim the team of DFRAC did a reverse image search on google and found that about regional has covered this report on 9 October 2017 with the headline stating: “ Eurobodalla and Bega valley locals say “Stop Adani”
The report further mentions South East locals have been part of national protest action against the Adani coal mine proposed for North Queensland. Protesters turned out in forty- five locations from Adelaide to Bondi to Bunbury over the weekend.
Locally, Eurobodalla 350 estimates around 250 people attended their protest at Congo Beach on Saturday, holding placards to spell out #STOP ADANI.
