On social media, newscutting of AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi has gone viral. While sharing the newscutting users claim “If India attacks Pak, Indian muslims will join Pak Army: Owaisi”.
Fact Check
On investigation, DFRAC found that the claim was fake. We found a tweet from official X handle of Asaduddin Owaisi on 2 Sept 2014 “My lawyer will send legal notice to Jammu observer if they apologise, fine if not then will file crime defamation against them will pursue it”.
Furthermore, we also found a video of Owaisi interview with Headlines Today uploaded on 10 Jan 2015 titled “If India Begins War Against Pakistan ?? Will Indian Muslims Join Pak Amy ?? Listen Asaduddin Owaisi Reply”. Asaduddin refuted the alleged statements attributed to him. He mentioned initiating legal proceedings against the news agency and that some organizations had apologized for making such baseless remarks.

It is evident from the DFRAC’s fact check AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi did not say ‘If India attacks Pak, Indian muslims will join Pak Army’. He refuted the alleged statements and mentioned initiating legal proceedings against the news agency . Therefore, the claim of social media users is fake.
