His decision has triggered a wave of misinformation on social media platforms. We also come across one such video of Biden making rounds on social media platform X(formerly Twitter). In this video, Biden can be heard condemning Americans. Many users are sharing this video and alleging that he made his first video address following dropping out of the Presidential race.
An account with the username @MidnightMitch shared this video and wrote: “President Joe Biden makes his first video address following dropping out of the Presidential race”

Furthermore, the video has been shared by several users with similar claims.
Fact-Check
To investigate the authenticity of the viral video, the DFRAC team meticulously observed this video and found that the tone of Biden’s voice turned different at 0:03 seconds.
Moreover, a reverse-image search of video’s keyframes led us to the extended version of this video which was posted by Fox 5 New York on YouTube. The video’s caption read: “FULL SPEECH: President Biden explains decision to step aside, not seek reelection“.After the brief observation of the YouTube video, we found that Biden did not condemn Americans at all.
We also noted that the video carries the logo of PBS News. For this, we visited the official X handle and came across a tweet by PBS Newsciting that it’s a deep fake video of Biden. He did not make any such statement
Conclusion
It is evident from DFRAC’s fact-check that the viral video of Biden lambasting Americans is deepfake as the audio part has been tampered.
