Fact Check
We investigated the viral claim thoroughly and found the claim is misleading. During the process, we found media reports that mentioned, ” 2 soldiers were injured in an encounter with terrorists in Doda district early Thursday, July 18, 2024, when terrorists opened fire on a temporary security camp established in a govt school for the ongoing search operations.” (Source: The Hindu)

According to a Times of India report, This was the eighth gunfight with terrorists in Doda since June 11-12. Additionally, sources said the latest assault could have been carried out by the same group of suspected Pakistani terrorists tied to Kashmir Tigers, a shadow group of Jaish-e-Mohammad, which was believed to be involved in the July 15 fatal attack on a search party in Desa, a thickly forested and mountainous area about 55km from Doda town. Kashmir Tigers claimed responsibility for both the Desa attack and a July 8 ambush on a two-truck military patrol in Kathua.

Furthermore, a report by Daily Excelsior reported an image. It showed the Wall of the school damaged in firing by the terrorists at Jaddan Bata in Doda.

Kastigarh, Doda attacks:
Kastigarg, Doda is part of the Jammu region. A series of Terrorist attacks have plagued it since July 15 where 4 Indian soldiers lost their lives.
