On social media platform X, a user named Manish Datt Tiwari shared this video and wrote: “This is the situation of the market, no one can be trusted If you are buying fruits from the market then buy them after looking at them carefully You can see how the colour is turning out”
While another user on X shared this video with the caption: “Get ready to have Apples with beautiful harmful colour coating and help the Doctors / hospitals through Medical bills”
Fact-Check
To investigate the viral video, the DFRAC team carefully examined it and noticed that something was written in Chinese on the sacks seen in the viral video.
It simply indicates that this video is related to China, not from India.
For further investigation, we converted the viral video into some key-frames and reverse-searched it on google and found some web stories uploaded by Business todayand TV9 Bharatvarsh featuring the screen grab from the viral video and citing the similar facts stating that Chinese language could be seen on the sacks shown in the viral video.
Additionally, a simple keyword search in this regard led us to multiple videos on social media showcasing that Apple candy chocolates are usually made in China.
