A claim has recently surfaced on X(Twitter) stating that a Kashmiri Resistance group, Kashmir Revolution Army, attacked Indian troops in Aragam Woods, Bandipora, Jammu & Kashmir. At least 6 soldiers and 3 Para SF commandos of Indian military were killed in attack.
Taking to X, an account with the username @PSYWAROPS shared an image and claimed: “On April 24, 2024, a Kashmiri Res!stance group, Kashmir Revolution Army, attacked the Ind!an troops in Aragam Woods, Bandipora, IIOJK. At least (6) soldiers and (3) Para SF commandos of the Ind!an Military were k!lled in the attack”
Fact-Check
To investigate the viral claim, the DFRAC team conducted a keyword search on google but didn’t get any such reports stating the death of any army personnel. However, we found some recently published media reports from Deccan Herald, UNI(United News of India) and Rising Kashmir.

According to media report by UNI dated April 24, 2024, Two soldiers were wounded in a brief gunfight in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.The sources said a massive combing operation is underway in the Renji forest area of Aragam, Bandipora to trace the militants who exchanged fire with the security forces in the wee hours.
Furthermore, another report by Deccan herald stated that while the forces were conducting a house-to-house search in the area, the terrorists who were in hiding fired upon them, reports said. In the initial exchange of fire, two soldiers sustained injuries.
In addition to this, Rising Kashmir’s media report also cited similar facts regarding the gunfight in Bandipoora district of Kashmir.
Conclusion
It is evident from DFRAC’s fact-check that the claim stating the death of 6 soldiers and 3 para SF commandos of Indian military has been misleadingly shared in the context of ongoing operation in Jammu and Kashmir. In fact, two Indian soldiers sustained injuries during the operation to trace out the terrorists in Bandipoora.
