A graphical image of the front page of Dainik Bhaskar newspaper has recently surfaced on social media platforms allegedly showing Nielsen-Dainik Bhaskar’s Mega Survey in which the ‘INDIA’ alliance is poised for success in South India.
Sharing this viral image, an account named Spirit of Congress wrote: “Dainik Bhaskar-Nelson Survey: In 10 states INDIA alliance is leading & could cross 200 in these 10 states alone”
Lalji Verma, National Secretary of the Samajwadi Party has also shared this viral image and made a similar claim.
Moreover, the viral image was also shared by other users with similar claims.
Fact-Check
To investigate the viral image, the DFRAC team examined the e-paper edition of April 13, 2024, by Dainik Bhaskar. We discovered that the front page did not depict any such pre-poll survey report. It shows a BJP advertisement and a rainfall news instead.
In addition, we found a tweet by Dainik Bhaskar on X(Twitter) stating that this survey is fake, and has been prepared by some anti-social elements. The newspaper outlet does not claim any such content.
Furthermore, we found a recent report by Dainik Bhaskar titled: Mera Vote Meri Marzi by the outlet stating that the main concern of 48% of people are ‘making Narendra Modi PM again’ while 37% are troubled by increasing unemployment.
The newspaper outlet did not publish a pre-poll survey report predicting INDIA alliance is poised for success in South India
Conclusion
It is evident from DFRAC’s fact-check that the viral graphical image showing a pre-poll survey report predicting the INDIA alliance‘s poised success for South is digitally edited as the Dainik Bhaskar itself considers it fake on X.
