On the contrary, we came across some media reports from Times of India, The Week, and ABP Live.
A recent media report by the Times of India stated that Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated joyfully in Jammu and Kashmir with prayers at Hazratbal Shrine. Former chief ministers express concerns over the Palestinian crisis and stress friendly India-Pakistan relations. Devotees barred from praying at Jamia Masjid. Eid festivities across India with an emphasis on spreading love and unity.
Moreover, another report by The Week also cited similar facts in the context of the above viral claim.
Additionally, a media report by ABPlive has also illustrated some pictures showing the celebration of Eid Ul Fitr 2024 and mentioned: “Eid is being celebrated with joy and gaiety in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday (April 10). A large number of people offered namaz in Hazratbal. Mehbooba Mufti also offered namaz.”
Conclusion
It is clear from DFRAC’s fact-check the viral claim stating Muslims in Kashmir celebrate Eid with Pakistan is misleading. Hence, the claim made by the South Asia Index and Insiders Hut is false.
