An X (formerly known as Twitter) users took to the platform on April 3rd 2024 to comment on the latest earthquake that hit Taiwan on the same day. Images of the waters of a river swaying were captured to showcase the potential impact of the quake.

The DFRAC team conducted a reverse search analysis to check the veracity of the claims and found that these images were from the Noto earthquake that hit Japan on January 1st of the same year.

According to Yahoo News, the video is clearly from Japan and not Taiwan and was captured b y Rie Yakushaki, a local resident in Japan and not a truck driver as stated in the claim.
Conclusion
While Taiwan did face a major earthquake, the video shown is not from April 3rd but from another date and location. Hence the claim is misleading
