News has taken the Internet by storm claiming that Former Iraqi militia Salwan Momika has been found dead in Norway. Momika, who is known for his anti-Islam stance and burning of the Quran, has recently moved to Norway from Sweden.
An account named The Saviour shared the image of Salwan on X and wrote: ” Salwan Momika, a man who burnt the Holy Quran several times in Sweden, was found dead in Norway”.
This post has accumulated more than 3 million views on X(Twitter).
Subsequently, other users also shared the images of Salwan and made similar claims.

Media Report from Document and India Today
We found a recent media report by the Norwegian newspaper website ‘Document‘. The media report stated: “ The Police’s Immigration Unit is not aware that Salwan Momika has been found dead in Norway. Thus, the rumours buzzing internationally have been denied.- The police’s immigration unit (PU) is not aware that someone with the above name has died in Norway recently, we get a response from the communications department”.
Furthermore, another media report by India Today mentioned: “There was no official public statement issued by the Norwegian government” concerning the viral news of Salwan Momika’s death.
