Fact Check:Kangana Ranaut shared Fake Photo of President Murmu, PM Modi And Eknath Shinde

A collage of 4 photos is going viral on social media. Users sharing this collage with the claim that it features PM Narendra Modi, President Daupadi Murmu, UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Maharashtra CM Eknath.

The description of the collage of these four photos is such that- In the first photo, PM Modi is in young days, in the photo he is seen sweeping. Regarding the second photo, it is claimed that it is a photo of President Draupadi Murmu, in the third photo Yogi Adityanath is seen and the fourth photo is from the young days of Eknath Shinde, as an auto driver.

Sharing this photo, Dainik Bhaskar’s State Bureau Chief Manoj Sharma (@manojpehul) wrote – “Historic photos..!!” Manoj Sharma is a verified user on Twitter.

At the same time, actress Kangana Ranaut also shared this collage on Instagram story and wrote – “This is called acche din in democracy.”

Similarly, it has also been shared by many other users.

Factcheck

To check the veracity of the viral collage, we have factored the four photos separately.

  1. Fact check of PM Modi sweeping:

To fact-check the photo of PM Modi sweeping, we did a reverse image search. During this we got a report from huffpost.com. In this report, an RTI has been told that the photo of PM Modi sweeping is fake. The original photo has also been shared in this report.

Conclusion:


Fact check of the photo of PM Modi sweeping the broom is proving that this photo is edited. Hence, the claim of social media users is fake.

2. Fact check of President Draupadi Murmu’s photo:

We did a reverse image search to find out the photo which is being claimed to be of President Draupadi Murmu. We got a report from news18.com. According to this report, this photo is of Sukumar Tudu. Sukumar is a sanitation worker in the primary hospital of Uparbeda village.

Conclusion:

It is clear from our fact check that this photo is not of President Draupadi Murmu but of Sukumar Tudu, a sweeper in the government hospital of his village. Hence the claim of social media users is fake.

3. Fact check of Eknath Shinde’s photo:

To fact check the photo of Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde shown as an auto driver in the collage, we did a reverse search of the image. But we didn’t get any result. After this we started searching for viral picture on social media. We found this picture in a post made on 26 July 2022 by a user named Speaks deva bhalke.

According to this post- “Since 1987, this photo of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is going viral on social media, but this photo is of hardworking leader Baba Kamble, from rickshaw driver to hardworking leader Baba Kamble… Maharashtra Rickshaw Panchayat established an independent organization in 2007. It was started.. justice to the rickshawmen and justice to the working laborers. This is the photo of activist leader Baba Kamble. #babakambele.

Conclusion:

This fact check is proves that the claim of social media users is fake, because this photo is not of Eknath Shind but of Baba Kamble.

4. Fact check of Yogi Adityanath’s photo:

The claim being made about the photo of Yogi Adityanath in the collage is true. To check the veracity of this photo, when we did a reverse image search, we found this photo published on the website of the newspaper ‘Hindustan’.

Conclusion:

It is clear from the fact-checking of this photo that this photo of Yogi Adityanath is True.
