Fact Check
We investigated the viral image by conducting a reverse image search. This search led us to find the same photo posted on Instagram in December 2023. The photo was captioned as a ‘Re-envisioning’ of the Iranian urban landscape featuring a spiral pattern.
Hamidreza Edalatnia, an Iranian artist, shared the image, explaining that it was generated using the AI tool Stable Diffusion. An examination of Edalatnia’s Instagram profile reveals numerous AI-generated photographs comparable to the one in question.
