Claim: A captivating image circulating on X (formerly Twitter) claims to depict a stunning village nestled in Greece, drawing widespread attention for its remarkable geometric features.
Similarly, multiple users have also shared the image with the same claim.
Fact Check
We investigated the viral image by conducting a reverse image search. This search led us to find the same photo posted on Instagram in December 2023. The photo was captioned as a ‘Re-envisioning’ of the Iranian urban landscape featuring a spiral pattern.
Hamidreza Edalatnia, an Iranian artist, shared the image, explaining that it was generated using the AI tool Stable Diffusion. An examination of Edalatnia’s Instagram profile reveals numerous AI-generated photographs comparable to the one in question.
We conducted an additional analysis using Hugging Face, an AI content detection tool. The technology determined that the image was AI-generated, with an 88% chance of being artificial.

Thus, from the fact check it is evident that the viral image is AI-generated and has been shared to create an optical illusion.
