A video is going on social media platforms showing a soldier wrapping a wire around an infant’s bed. The video has drawn heavy backlash on social media sites. Users on social media are fiercely sharing this video and criticizing it for depicting inhumanity and cruelty.
Sharing this video on X(Twitter), an account named Abier wrote: “I wish all of them to live a long life to suffer from PTSD, schizophrenia, insomnia, every innocent child, woman and man they killed, burned and abused haunt them till their death and they never find peace. #Israel“
Another user by the name of Asad Abukahlil re-quoted this video on X(Twitter)and wrote: ” I assure you that they won’t suffer from any of those maladies. They have no conscience. Part of the belief in Zionism is to discard the conscience”
Furthermore, we found that several users also shared this video and made similar claims.
Fact-Check
To investigate the claim made through the above viral video, the DFRAC team converted this video into some keyframes and reverse-searched it on Google. Meanwhile, we found this video posted on X(Twitter) handle named ‘Igor Dobrowolski’ with the caption indicating that it was his art performance.
Moreover, the video was also shared on his Instagram handle with the same caption.
As per Instagram bio, he is a Polish artist. His other artworks can be seen on his website.
Conclusion
It is clear from DFRAC’s fact-check that the viral video is based on an art performance which is enacted by a Polish artist named “Igor Dobrowolski”, not a real one.
