Fact-Check: Ratan Tata asserted “Rahul Gandhi Country’s Next PM”? Here’s the Reality

An image is making rounds on social media platforms carrying the Indian Industrialist Ratan Tata’s recent statement about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi which reads: “ Simple nature like Rahul Gandhi and The sweetest leader I have ever met, I haven’t seen them, I have no hesitation in saying this I can say that He will become India’s Next Prime Minister”. Users on social media are sharing this image and claiming that Ratan Tata praised Rahul Gandhi & asserted that he will become country’s next PM.

Sharing this image on X(Twitter), a user named Ram Kumar Ray wrote:”I have never seen a leader with simple nature and sweet behavior like Shri Rahul Gandhiji. I can say without any hesitation that he will become the next Prime Minister of India. Industrialist Ratan Tata”.

Furthermore, we found that the image had gone viral in 2018, 2020 and 2021 with similar claims.

Fact-Check

To verify the authenticity of the Ratan Tata’s statement, the DFRAC team examined all social media handles of Ratan Tata  but we didn’t get any statement made by Ratan Tata praising  Rahul Gandhi & stating him as country’s next PM. Additionally, no such news has been published by any media organization in this regard.

Conclusion

It is clear from DFRAC’s fact-check that the viral image carrying Ratan Tata’s statement about Rahul Gandhi is completely fake. No such post or news has been found in this regard.

Hence, the claim of social media users is false.
