What is the claim?
Released as a recent video, the user wrote, “This leaked video is going viral on SM, where people are resisting the Israeli army.
Israel is losing the battle on every stage & they don’t want the truth to come out. Hence, they’ve banned neutral media from reporting”
Fact Check
By utilizing Google Reverse Search, we meticulously examined the keyframes from the video. Subsequently, during the investigation, a crucial discovery was made. The complete video had been uploaded on Facebook in 2022.
Reality of the video
WAFA News agency, a Palestinian media house, uploaded the video on Facebook. It was captioned,” Heavily armed Israeli occupation soldiers running a checkpoint near Bethlehem retreat in the face of Palestinian worshipers in their way to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.”
Other Facebook users also shared the same video in April 2022.
Bethlehem Checkpoint
Furthering the investigation we found the mention of the ‘Bethlehem checkpoint.’ Checkpoint 300, recognized by several names such as the Bethlehem checkpoint, the Gilo Checkpoint, or the Rachel’s Tomb checkpoint, holds a significant position as a major Israel Defense Forces checkpoint at one of the main exits of Bethlehem.
