G20 Summit 2023 was successfully held in New Delhi resulting in numerous productive discussions, pacts, and other cooperation among global leaders, leading to strengthening India’s global ties in the world. Social media platforms are surging with the images and videos of this significant event. Amid this, an Image of Modi and Biden of a Bilateral meeting from the G20 summit is going viral on the Internet showing a classical painting of Mahabharata in the background.
Sharing this image of Modi and Biden on Twitter(X), a staunch supporter and member of BJP Yogi Devnath wrote a line from verses 7 and 8 of Chapter 4 of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta “Whenever there is loss of religion, O Bharatha”(English Translation)
Several users are sharing this image on Twitter(X) and Facebook (meta) along with the full verse as the caption.
Fact-Check
The Dfrac team conducted a reverse-image search which led us to the official Twitter handle of PM Narendra Modi where we found the viral image showing a plain background behind Modi & Biden along with other delegates.
Not only this, but several images of G20 Summit 2023 can also be seen on his official Twitter handle showing Modi holding productive Discussions with other global leaders.
Following that, we came across a video on the PM’s official YouTube channel that clearly depicts PM Modi warmly receiving Joe Biden and other world leaders during the G20 event in New Delhi.
Conclusion
DFRAC’s Fact-Check proves that the viral photoshopped image of Modi and Biden showing a classical painting of Mahabharata is misleading as no such painting has been found in the original image of the G20 Summit.
