The video with the above claim is shared by many users, dated August 9 – Manish Singh (@MSinghBJP), Bipin Bihari Singh (@Bipin_Bi_Singh), Vikram Mittal (@VikramMittalBjp), Jai Bhagwan Goyal (@JaiBhagwanGoyal) and many more.
Fact Check:
To ascertain the veracity of the viral video, DFRAC investigated the video by putting it into the keyframe. During the investigation, we found the complete version of Rahul Gandhi’s speech delivered on August 9th in the Lok Sabha.
At the 30:17 minute mark, Rahul Gandhi can be heard saying, “It was not Hanuman who set Lanka on fire. It was the arrogance of Ravana that set Lanka on fire. Ram did not kill Ravana. The videos above shows that the viral video was cut down to 9 seconds in an attempt to mislead.
