A user named Kapil Chaudhary (@_i_kapil) posted this video on Twitter and wrote: “This is happening in UP..!! People open your eyes….@Uppolice please take action. …..I wish they could stop him sooner”.
Fact-Check
To verify the claims of the above viral video, the Dfrac team converted this viral video into some keyframes and reverse-searched it on Google. Meanwhile, the team found a tweet by the @UPPViralCheck claiming that the viral video is from Thana Tigri, Delhi.
Moreover, we also discovered a news article that was published on August 2, 2023 by the news website ‘Navbharat times’ with the headline: “Loan of 3000 made a murderer, killed a person by stabbing 17 times, heart wrenching case of DelhiTigriarea”. In this news article, Navbharat times stated: “It has become common in the capital Delhi to kill by stabbing on a small matter. One such sensational incident came to the fore today. In which a young man was stabbed to death in Tigri police station area. The video of the murder is also going viral on social media. However, during this time people showed awareness and also tried to save the deceased. 4-5 people together first freed the knife from the hand of the accused and later beat him a lot with a stick”.
