Video resurfaces claiming of Pakistan Train Accident, Read Fact Check

A viral video is peddling associated with the Pakistan Train accident of August 7, 2023. A news portal named Tvbharat24 (@tvbharat24news) shared the video stating, ”Karachi, Pakistan: At least 28 people were killed Sunday when an express train derailed in southern Pakistan, the railway minister said, with an emergency declared at local hospitals struggling to deal with with dozens of injured. #Pakistan #TrainAccident #ImranKhan”

Following their claim, another user on social media also shared the video stating, ”At least 30 were killed and over 80 injured after as many as 10 bogies of Havelian bound Hazara Express derailed today near Sahara #railwaystation in Sindh’s Nawabshah district, 275 kilometres away from #Karachi. #TrainAccident #PakistanTrainAccident

Fact Check

Dfrac team reverse searched the video and from the investigation it was found that the video actually is from Odisha Train Accident, India. The actual video  is of the news channel named OTVnews English.

We also found the video covering the Odisha train accident uploaded on 3rd June, 2023, by The Economic Times which matches the above video.

Conclusion

From the fact check it is evident that the viral video is from Odisha and not from Pakistan. Thus the claim by TVbharat24 about the viral video is misleading.
