A video is becoming increasingly viral on social media where it can be seen that a half-burnt person is suffering on the ground next to a burning pyre. Social media users are sharing this video claiming that when the dead body was being cremated, it suddenly stood up from the burning pyre and fell down beside the latter, before jerking uncontrollably.
Posting this video, a user named ULTA PULTA NEWS 123 wrote – “Suddenly a dead man got up from the burning pyre and started writhing loudly and started rolling on the ground, the video of which is going viral on social media, Viral video of Nagla Khanjar, in Firozabad, is being told of the police station.”
At the same time, this video has been posted by many other users, as is included in the above slideshow.
Fact Check:
To fact-check the viral video, the DFRAC team carefully examined it. In fact, in the video, Nagla Khanjar police station of Firozabad district has described the details of the incident. Our team searched for some keywords on Google and found a report till date.
It states that a young man named Ashok Kumar had died of cancer, whose funeral his friend Anand Jadon had attended. During the last rites of the deceased, his friend Anand fainted and fell on the pyre and scorched up to 90 percent. Anand was taken to the trauma center for treatment, where the doctors referred him to Agra. In this report, quoting the villagers, it has been told that Anand had jumped on the funeral pyre of his friend Ashok, saddened by his death.
Simultaneously, in the context of this incident, we found published reports of many other media houses, which all say that Anand had jumped into the pyre after being saddened by the death of his friend.
Conclusion:
It is clear from the fact check of DFRAC that the dead body did not come out after getting up from the burning pyre. Actually, grieving the death of his friend, the other friend had jumped into the pyre and thus, the claim of social media users is wrong.
