FACT CHECK:
To verify the authenticity of the viral video, the DFRAC team first converted the video into a few key frames, and then reverse image searched them on the internet. a YouTube channel named ‘Vishwajit Sarkar’ uploaded the same video seven years back on May 21, 2015, under the caption ‘illegal Entry Into India From Bangladesh At Milan Mela In Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal’.
In the description of this video, it has been said in Bangla language that – In the video, there are Bhatia Muslims who cross the border from Bangladesh to India, who come to India for work, and go to work in different states of India. Many of these live permanently in India. Due to the huge gathering of people in the fair, they are entering India by throwing dust in the eyes of BSF.
In the meantime, we found that on January 22, 2019, the caption given by News Nation on YouTube said: In An Exclusive Video By News Nation, Watch How Many Bangladeshi Immigrants Are Infiltrating At Silchar Border In Assam.
It is clear from News Nation and YouTube channel ‘Vishwajeet Sarkar’ that whether the video is from Silchar border in Assam or ‘Milan Mela’ in North Dinajpur, West Bengal, this video is not of a Rohingya infiltrator. The video has been uploaded earlier by YouTube channel ‘Vishwajit Sarkar’, so there is more weight in the fact that the above video is of ‘Milan Mela’ in Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal.
Conclusion:
This fact-check by DFRAC reveals that the viral video clip is of the ‘Milan Mela’ held seven years ago on the Indo-Bangladesh border, hence the claim of Pushpendra Kulshrestha and other social media users is misleading.
