Eight former Indian Navy officers are held in Qatari jail since September last year. There have been calls for the release of these navy officers by their families. The oil and gas rich Qatar is said to have started legal proceeding against the eight former Indian officers.
According to many reports, Qatar has alleged that former Indian Navy officers were allegedly passing on sensitive information on Qatar’s submarine programme to the Israel.
Meanwhile a verified page by the name of South Asia Index tweeted that 8 former officials of India navy, who were arrested by Qatar last year, may be awarded capital punishment, as per Qatar’s laws.- Qatar media.

To check the veracity of the viral claim DFRAC team did a google search and found no media reports on any Doha media outlets.
After thi we saerched the official social media account of Qatar government and there too found no claim.
