A video is going viral on social media, wherein a man can be seen with Sarfaraz Ahmed, the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team. In this video, Sarfaraz claims that- ‘I have seen many Indian players eating korma, biryani, in the room of Yusuf Bhai (Pak cricketer).’ Then he says with what seems to be sarcasm that- ‘And you know, how the food of the Jamaat comes, the people of the Jamaat are our brothers, sheermal also comes, kofta also comes, korma comes, biryani comes and then Gulab Jamun comes.’ On this, the other person says- “You know, I have come to know that Karachi Haleem is a very famous brand, from here every month Haleem Beef goes to Amitabh Bachchan’s place. That, Amitabh Bachchan eats with great interest. Indians please don’t mind, they eat beef!”
A Twitter user named Jagdamba Patel posted the video and wrote, “Amitabh Bachchan eats cow meat from Pakistan, these bollywood people just want to show superiority by destroying Sanatan” (English translation)

To verify the authenticity of the viral video clip, the DFRAC team first converted the video into key frames and then reverse-image searched them on the internet. We found this video clip in a 1 hour 26 minute video uploaded on 30 March 2023,
on a verified YouTube channel called Nadiraliofficial with the caption, “NADIR ALI PODCAST FEATURING SARFARAZ AHMED!!”,
In this video, at 39:09 minutes, cricketer Sarfaraz Ahmed can be heard saying about Team India that- ‘I have seen many Indian players eating Korma, Biryani, in Yusuf Bhai’s room…’ Then further Nadir Ali claims that- “You know, I have come to know that Karachi Haleem, a very famous brand, goes from here to Amitabh Bachchan’s place every month, Haleem of beef, Amitabh Bachchan eats very fondly. Don’t mind Indians eat beef!”
To fact-check the claim of Pakistani YouTuber Nadir Ali, the DFRAC team did a Google search with the help of some keywords in this context. During this we came across a news report published by Indian Express in November 2022.
As per reports, on the show Kaun Banega Crorepati 14, when contestant Anjali Kumari asked Bachchan about his favorite dish, he said, “I have stopped eating all of that. I used to eat meat in my youth but now I have stopped eating non-vegetarian food, sweets, rice and paan and will not say anything further.
Amitabh Bachchan was discussing wife Jaya Bachchan’s favorite dish – fish. During this, he also talked about his own food habits.
Similarly, we also found a report on the website mensxp.com, which has been published in November 2022. Its title is “8 Bollywood Celebrities Who Gave Up Meat & Turned Vegetarian For A Good Reason”.
Amitabh Bachchan’s name is at number four in this report. It states that Amitabh Bachchan was named the ‘Hottest’ vegetarian celebrity by PETA not once but thrice. The actor is known for making healthy choices. Amitabh Bachchan said that he has given up meat along with rice, aerated drinks, smoking and alcohol for health reasons.
We could not find anything about Haleem coming from Karachi, Pakistan every month.
Whereas to know whether Amitabh Bachchan has ever eaten beef before, DFRAC team did some keyword search on Google. During this, we found a report on abplive and telegraphindia which is actually a transcript of an interview given by him to anchor Arnab Goswami. According to reports, while talking on beef ban, Amitabh Bachchan told anchor Arnab Goswami that- “I am a vegetarian”.

This fact-check by DFRAC confirms that the viral video, which claims that Amitabh Bachchan eats beef, is false as Amitabh has publicly announced that he has given up eating meat.
