It states that some unknown miscreants broke the ancient Ganesha idol situated on a hill in Phirangipuram of Guntur in search of hidden treasure. According to the police, some miscreants from the local area were digging up the temple premises with the false belief that the ancient Ganesha temple had hidden treasure. On Monday night, miscreants, in an attempt to find the treasure, broke an ancient Ganesha idol, nearly 100 years old. The police also said that there is no communal angle in the incident and that the accused will be nabbed soon.
