A video is circulated on the internet claiming that China’s capital Beijing gets the rain of worms. In this video, many cars can be seen on the roads with something falling on it.
New York Post posted the video tweeting, “China pummelled by ‘rain of worms’ as residents asked to carry umbrellas https://trib.al/9HzK5kh.”
Times now too posted this video with the caption that reads, “’Rain of worms’ in China’s capital city of Beijing baffles people- WATCH. #TNShorts #Beijing #China #Worms.”

Fact Check:
While looking at the video closely we could find that there is worms-like material on the cars but the roads can be seen as clean.
Also in the video, one could not find any type of movement in the worms.
On further investigation, The ‘Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission ie the CPLC of the ruling Communist Party of China has also published a report claiming it to be Fake as these are not worms but seeds of poplar flowers falling on the car.
We also found some Twitter handles from China itself which are denying the claim of rain of worms.
In the post the person tweeting has clarified that these are the seeds of poplar tree and not worms.
Conclusion:
The viral post that suggests the rain of worms in China is fake as these are seeds of famous trees in China
