An infographic with Dainik Jagran logo is doing the rounds on social media. This graphic carrying picture of Sana Khan and her husband Anas Saiyad claims that “Sana Khan will soon be a mother as prayers have made her pregnant. Her husband has been praying for this at the Ajmer Dargah for last two years… Sana became pregnant without any sexual intercourse!”
A user wrote while sharing this infographic: “Ultimately only prayers worked… Sana’s husband has been praying at Ajmer shrine for last two years… here in Mumbai, Sana’s belly started swelling. The check-up confirmed that she was pregnant. See, the prayers have such powers that a wife can become pregnant even without relations with husband. Beautiful Islam!”
A number of other Twitter users also shared this graphic with similar messaging.
Fact Check:
The viral infographic carries the logo of Dainik Jagran and thus it raises alarm. However, the DFRAC team searched for it on the Jagran website and social media accounts carefully. The team found the original infographic on the Instagram page of Jagran. The text embedded in this illustration reads: “Sana Khan’s house will soon echo with kid’s crying, she reveals pregnancy interview.”
The website of Dainik Jagran also carried the news of Sana’s pregnancy with her and her husband’s picture. Nowhere the news on Jagran’s various pages say that she became pregnant through prayers without physical relations with her husband.
Conclusion:
It is clear from DFRAC fact-check that the viral Dainik Jagran infographic has been mischievously morphed to mislead social media users. The claim about Sana Khan’s pregnancy via prayers is utterly slanderous and fake.
