Fact Check: Did Ashok Gehlot say – 80 percent Rajputs were involved in the forgery?

Dilshad Noor February 25, 2023 2 min read

The politics of Rajasthan heated up when Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot blamed Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for the Sanjivani scam. The round of allegations and counter-allegations against each other is going on from both sides.

Meanwhile, First News Rajasthan journalist Devraj Singh Mandani posted a news cutting on his Twitter account. On which it is written that Gehlot’s attack on the Union Minister, said – 80 percent Rajputs are involved in forgery.

Along with this, he captioned his tweet – ‘Gehlot ji, the comment on Rajput society will be heavy. (English Translation) #राजपूत_विरोधी_गहलोत’

Fact Check:

To verify the claim made in the viral news cutting, the DFRAC team searched on Google some keywords given in the news cutting. During this, the team received a report from Dainik Bhaskar.

The report said that on the Sanjeevani scam, CM Ashok Gehlot has made the biggest attack on Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat so far. Making serious allegations against Shekhawat again today, he said that his family members are involved in the Sanjeevani scam. Gajendra Singh’s father, his mother, his wife, his five brothers-in-law are included in it. His mother has passed away. His whole family is involved. There are around 50 accused in this case.

Gehlot said that the Prime Minister has made such a person a minister against a person who has serious allegations against him. Let the Prime Minister examine them. Gehlot was talking to the media this afternoon at the secretariat after taking a meeting on the budget.

Gehlot said that 80 percent of the victims in the Sanjeevani scam are Rajputs, I have spoken to Bhagwan Singh Rollsabsar, he is Gajendra Singh Shekhawat’s mentor. I said Bhagwan Singh ji explain to him to return the money. Don’t know how much money has been kept abroad? Ethiopia, Australia and don’t know in how many countries Gajendra Singh’s money is invested. The Union Minister should clear this thing. Why is he not getting ED to investigate?

Conclusion:

It is clear from the fact check of DFRAC that the claim made by Devraj Singh Mandani is fake. Because Ashok Gehlot has said that 80 percent of the victims in the Sanjeevani scam are Rajputs.
