The Zero COVID policy triggered massive outrage in China. But as we know a great deal of information about the suffering and struggles taking place inside the Chinese mainland goes unheard by the rest of the world. The credit majorly goes to the different types of gimmicks played by the Chinese government.
According to the data analysis of Air-Moving Device, searched for 北京 (Beijing) today (11/28 ~5am Beijing time) and identified accounts with tweets that show up in the “Latest” search results. Vast majority (>95%) of these are spam accounts. They tweet at a high, steady rate throughout the day, suggesting automation.”
The use of Porn accounts to deceive Chinese agitation
A strange thing to notice amid the Chinese protest is the increasing number of porn accounts and search content that surfaces on social media sites while searching for Chinese protest. Here is the list of 82 such fake accounts. These accounts were created in different time zones.
One common thing in all the posts done by these accounts is that they all have mentioned the Chinese social media plaform WeChat.
The maximum number of porn accounts was created on 20th October 2022, with over 40 accounts. Followed by the 21st and 22nd of the same month with 36 and 14 accounts created on respective dates.
A maximum number of tweets was done on 2022-11-11 i.e. 75 tweets, more than 60 tweets were done on the 12th and 26th.

Though China has banned social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, much footage via Twitter has drawn the attention of the masses toward the protest.

Any news related to human rights struggles rarely come out from China. This is majorly because of government policies. They have banned international platforms like Google, Facebook, and Twitter. Instead, the localized software like the search engine Baidu or the social media platform WeChat. Therefore, the information that comes out from China is highly censored. Moreover, the use of porn accounts or bot accounts as highlighted in this report is another tactic of Chinese government to control information.
