Fact Check:
To analyze the originality of the viral claim the team of DFRAC found a tweet in this context. The viral video in this tweet was posted by a user named Janardhan Moorty on March 5, 2020. In this post, Moorty had claimed – “Historic Vijayeshwaralayam at the foot of Indrakeeladri hill – The residence of Sri Durga Mata Temple in Vijayawada being demolished by the Government of Andhra Pradesh”

The team further analyzed in this context. We found a Facebook post by a user named Sri Rakesh Kurapati. This post was shared on March 6, 2020. Sharing the cutting of a newspaper in this post, he captioned – “Look at the cutting of this newspaper and stop spreading fake news”

When we translated the newspaper cuttings, its translation came out that this video is of the development work done at Sri Vijayeshwar Temple in Vijayawada. Other parts of the temple are being demolished to increase and renovate the area of the temple. At the same time, it has also been mentioned in this report that misleading claims are made about the renovation of the temple.
Meanwhile, news of the renovation of this temple has also been published in many media reports.
Conclusion:
It is clear from the verification of DFRAC that the claim made by social made users is misleading. Because the temple is not being demolished but renovated.
