Did IAS Tina Dabi survive to burn injuries while lighting firecrackers on Diwali? Read- Fact check

A video is getting viral on social media sites regarding the IAS officer and District Collector of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan Tina Dabi. Users who shared this video are claiming that Tina Dabi survived the accident while burning crackers on Diwali. In the video, cracker sparks can be seen passing by Tina Dabi’s face.

Fact check:

To analyze the originality of the viral video the team of DFRAC  first searched in the context of Tina Dabi on Google. We found a report published on 6 October 2022 on the Navbharat Times website. It has been told in this report that – “Tina Dabi’s courage, a spark fell on herself in Ravana combustion, still she did not leave the arrow, see pictures”

Conclusion:

It is clear from the analysis of DFRAC that the viral video of Tina Dabi is not of Diwali but of Dussehra. Therefore, the claim made by social media users and various news channels and newspapers is misleading.
