A picture of South African cricketer David Miller along with a young girl is going viral on social media sites. Sharing the picture users are claiming that Miller’s daughter had died of cancer. Many social media users and media houses claimed this news.
Meanwhile, a social media user Kownok Ahmed Uthso wrote, “The heartbreaking news is that David Miller’s daughter has died of cancer. RIP Princess.”
Similarly, many other users have shared this picture with similar claims.
Moreover, many media houses including LATESTLY, ZeeSalaam and AsiaNetnews have claimed the same.
Fact Check
On reverse image search, the DFRAC team found a video on the verified Instagram handle of David Miller, he shared a slideshow of pictures of the same girl. He captioned it as, “RIP you little rockstar, Love you always!”
On the other hand, we found a tweet from CricTracker, in which it was written that “David Miller lost one of his biggest fans.”
Cricketer Mufaddal Vohra also expressed his condolences via tweet. He wrote, “One of David Miller’s biggest fan, Ane passed away. She was close to Miller.”
Then we searched about David Miller’s personal life. Currently, the cricketer does not have any child.
Conclusion
The girl who died was a very big fan of Miller, not his daughter. Hence, the claim of the social media users is wrong.
