The statement states, “BJP’s hand is behind the Boycott gang, they want to shift the film industry to Noida, that’s why 2-2 ₹ devotees have been given a contract to troll all day on social media… This Modi is ruining the country.”(English Translation)
People are sharing this screenshot while criticizing Alia Bhat.
Sharing the same screenshot, a user on Twitter wrote, “Like her father, this too turned out to be pro-Muslim. #बॉयकॉट_बॉलीवुड”
Many others too shared the same screenshot with different captions.
Fact Check:
To investigate the viral screenshot our team checked the social media handles of ‘BBC Hindi’. We couldn’t find any screenshot showing Alia Bhatt accusing the BJP of the Boycott Bollywood trend.
BBC News Hindi has itself considered the news fake by tweeting it from its official Twitter account.
Then further we also checked the social media accounts of Alia Bhat and did not find this statement anywhere.
Conclusion:
The picture getting viral is fake as neither this statement is provided by Alia Bhatt nor BBC News Hindi has covered it.
