A post is being shared on social media. It is being claimed in this post that the Supreme Court has given a decision that now Atrocity Act will be applicable for saying abusive words against Brahmin society. Social media users are thanking Advocate Mukesh Bhatt for this, who filed the case in the Supreme Court.

Sharing a screenshot, a user wrote- “A very happy news for all Brahmins. Many thanks to Advocate Mukesh Bhatt Ji. Supreme Court of India gave a big decision. The atrocity Act will now apply for abusing the Brahmin caste. Advocate Mukesh Bhatt ji filed a petition in the Supreme Court, which was recognized by the Supreme Court today. I congratulate Pandit Kanu Sharma (Advocate) on behalf of the entire Brahmin society.

Fact Check:

To check this viral claim, we did a simple search on Google. But there was no news of any action being taken under the Atrocity Act on the use of abusive words against Brahmins. Since the users who made the claim posted on May 25. That’s why we went to the website of the Supreme Court and searched for the decisions given by the court. We did not find any such information there also.

Thereafter, we contacted Supreme Court Advocate Siddharth Acharya. Siddharth Acharya told that no such decision has been given by the Supreme Court. He has termed such claims as misleading.

Conclusion:

Our fact check is proving that the viral claim is misleading. Because no such decision has been given by the Supreme Court.
