Fact Check: Is the viral video of the protestor related to the Agnipath Scheme Protests?

A video of a protestor is going viral on social media. In that video, the man is speaking to several news reporters and assures students that he is protesting on their behalf. The man says, “I will reach wherever my students are in problem.” When asked by media persons about what the demands of the students are, the protester fails to answer and he leaves the interview midway and runs away.

Many social media users are claiming that the man in the video is protesting against the Agnipath scheme, i.e newly launched scheme by the Indian government.

A Facebook user writes, “When it comes to “firefighters” walking the “file path”Why do such “Agniveer” come first in the mind?”

Fact Check:

We at DFRAC reverse searched the video to know its reality. We found a logo on the video that is of Principle of news and found a Youtube channel. On that channel, we found the same video which was on the Facebook page, but with the caption, “The meaning of RRB-NTPC is not known but for the students doing Protest. RRB-NTPC Latest News.”

The video was uploaded 5 months earlier.

Conclusion:

The video is not from the farmer’s protest but is 5 months older video.

Claim Review:  the video is protesting against the Agnipath scheme.
