Fact Check: The image of a crowded river from Finland went viral as it is of the US.

An image is going viral on social media sites with the claim that it is of the United States. Further sharing the a Facebook user Fox Sports Radio 1400 Texarkana, shared the image with the caption, “Guadalupe River in New Braunsfel, Tx this weekend.” The Guadalupe River is in  Texas, America.

 Moreover, many other user have shared this picture with the same claim.

Fact check

On reverse image search we found a tweet of Discovering Finland of July, 2017. And, the caption of the Tweet is, “What kind of activities do you think people can enjoy in Finland? Lots!! discoveringfinland.com/activities/ Activities gallery: fi.pinterest.com/DiscoverFinlan.” It is noteworthy that this tweet also have the viral picture.

Further, we also found the same picture on the website of kaljakellunta.org. kaljakellunta is a Finnish word that means floating beer festival.

Conclusion

Therefore, The viral mage is of Finland not from United States. Hence, users are sharing this picture with misleading claims.
