A post is becoming massively viral on social media. Sharing the post users are claiming that the Central Bank of India is preparing to close its 600 branches by 2023 . Further, a Facebook user wrote in his post, “Central Bank of India is going to shut 600 branches by March 2023.”
A similar claim was made on Twitter as well. A user @JwalantL wrote, “Central Bank of India is going to close 600 branches by March 2023. Employees should not panic, the temple will be ready soon.”
Fact Check:
On our fact check analysis we found the official Twitter handle the Bank. Where we found a tweet about this. A general notice was posted in the tweet to refute the viral claim.

Hence, the bank has not taken any decision to shut down of its branches during the financial year 2022-23. However, it is a regular practice for each bank to re-align/shift/merge/close/open branches on regular basis to achieve the set objectives of corporate business .”
Apart from this, we also got a report from Economic Times. The title of the article is that, “Central Bank of India says not yet decided on branch closures.”
