An era of terror has started after the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan. The rule comes up with many types of restrictions on the lifestyle of Afghans. One such claim is getting viral on social media platforms these days. By posting a video users are claiming that the Taliban have destroyed the cellphones of Afghans.

Similarly, many other users have posted this video on their social media handles.

Fact Check

On our fact check analysis our team found that the Soldiers in the video are neither Taliban soldiers nor Afghan soldiers. However, these are Pakistani soldiers.

Further, on doing our keyword search we found that these officers are of Pakistan Customs. Likewise, we also found a report of  VICE World News. According to the report the viral video is of destructions of alcohol, drugs, and phones Worth $13.9 Million in an Official Burning Ceremony by Pakistan Custom Officers.

In addition, we also found a video on YouTube of this official destruction ceremony of smuggled items.

Hence, the claims done by social media users regarding the viral video are fake and misleading.
