Following an alleged revelation in a media report concerning the Election Commission, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has come under criticism from the Opposition. Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and MP from Rae Bareli, also held a press conference on September 24, during which he strongly criticised Gyanesh Kumar. Rahul Gandhi demanded his resignation and called for action against him.
Meanwhile, an image of a TV showroom is being widely shared on social media, showing Rahul Gandhi’s press conference being displayed on multiple television screens. Users are sharing the image as a representation of the “mood of the nation.” Sharing the image, a user named Jeetu Burdak wrote, “Mood of the nation.”
Karbari Ansari another user shared the same image with the caption, “Rahul Gandhi is everywhere…”

DFRAC’s investigation found that the claim is false and that the viral image purportedly showing Rahul Gandhi’s press conference being displayed on multiple television screens in a showroom is AI-generated. AI expert Kumar Aniket, who spoke to DFRAC, also confirmed that the viral image shows signs of being AI-generated.
Upon closely examining the viral image, our team found several inconsistencies commonly associated with AI-generated content. During the investigation, we observed that the information about Rahul Gandhi’s press conference displayed on the TV screens contains the words “Vote चोरी” in the top-right corner, but the word “चोरी” appears unclear and distorted.We also identified another inconsistency in the image: reflections of several television screens can be seen on the floor, but the screens appear to be switched off in all of these reflections.
Our team found the original poster announcing Rahul Gandhi’s press conference on his YouTube channel. In the original poster, the words “Vote चोरी” are clearly and correctly written.
We then analysed the viral image using AI-detection tools, including Hive Moderation, TruthScan, Image Detector, and Decopy AI. All four tools indicated a high likelihood that the image was AI-generated. Hive Moderation gave an AI-generated probability of 63.7%, TruthScan 75%, Image Detector 75%, and Decopy AI 78%.
For a detailed analysis of the viral image, our team contacted AI expert Kumar Aniket. Aniket told DFRAC that the image contains several indicators suggesting that it is AI-generated. According to him, language inaccuracies and inconsistencies in lighting and shadows indicate that the viral image was generated using AI.
Conclusion:
DFRAC’s fact check establishes that the viral image purportedly showing Rahul Gandhi’s press conference being displayed on multiple television screens in a TV showroom is not authentic but AI-generated. Therefore, the claim being made by social media users is misleading.
